St. Luke’s Hospice provides free, expert care and support for people whose illnesses are no longer curable, as well as support to their family and carers. Working with the NHS and other healthcare professionals, the Hospice plays a crucial role in the provision of palliative and end-of-life care in South West Essex. The name ‘Pearl of St. Luke’s, was chosen as it has connotations with the traditional 30th anniversary gift of pearl colouring. ‘Pearl of St. Luke’s’ has been made possible with the help of sponsor West and Coe, who are long-time supporters of the Hospice, and also boosted by a generous donation from local support group Stepping Forward.
